day 4: 15/07/09

today, i tried to contact the Head of my Department in WBS in order to obtian more accurate information about the list of post grad students and their access. at the meantime, i planned the work to be done in case this list is accessible using three different alternatives. the first is to add in the personal level of chat setting an indicator of post-grad students after adding the list displayed by the heads.
The second is the add in the Chat icon, a new category for grouping post grad as it exists in chat rooms.
the third is to add in the setting menu a third choice of groups: post grad or others.
As i have not received an answer from the Head, i am working on the other idea of libraries connection by asking forst about the system used in each library.

day 3: 14/07/09

in order to have a mind mapping that helps me to spot the post grad students the research i made about the Heads of Departments needed to be shapened into diagrams that i worked on for a couple of hours.
-need help to get in touch with the heads of the other departments apart from WBS that i know
-how to obtain the missing information about the other Heads of Departments?

day 2: 10/07/2009

in day two i have finished my research on the last 6 schools of the University which are respectively: Informatics, School of Computer Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages, Media, Arts and Design, Integrated Health and finally Law.After finishing my reserch of the Deans and Head of Departments's e-mails in order to obtain like this categorised lists of the post-grad students they have, i noticed some missing information on those schools home pages.1- for the School of Computer Sciences, the Dean's information is not available2- for Social Sicences, Humanities & languages, especially the Diplomatic Academic of London Department Mr Nabil Ayad the Head of Department has not displayed his e-mail address. in addition to that, the Head of Politics & International Relations has an e-mail address in Edinbrough University, no Westminster University e-mail address available. Lastly, no information shown about the head of Social & Historical Studies.3- for the Media, Arts and Design, except from the Dean Sally Feldman, the heads of the 4 Departments have not mentioned neither their names nor their contact e-mails4- in the Law School, there is one department's name remaining inactive, thus no information available about the staff.

day 1: 9/07/09

I started working on my reseach of a way to make the recognition of post-grad students via mywestminster.ac.uk access possible without having to get through confidential information from students' database.for the first couple of hours, i checked 3 schools out of 9 existing in the university which are respectively: Westmister Business School, the School of Architecture and the built Environment and lastly Biosciences. Then, i made up a mapmind for the Heads of Departments names and e-mail addresses as my idea is to get in touch with the heads in order to obtain the name of the students who are registered in post-grad studies without transpassing security birdges
